On April 9, 2010, three generations of women were honored in the Cafe' Beignet, North Washington Ave, Scranton PA. Helen A. Kamienska (Kaminski), her mother Anastasia, and grandmother Zophia, had their photographs put on display behind the counter of the Cafe'. Helen is one of the benefactors of the Cafe'. Once again we would like to extend our thanks again to her for all she has done for the Cafe', and for the Milk Saving Starving Children Foundation! Thank you Helen!!!

Fat Tuesday 2010!!!


The Fat Tuesday Traditions Continue at Cafe' Beignet Every Fat Tuesday is a Special Event at Cafe' Beignet, and this year is no exception! In addition to our signature beignets, we will be serving Louisiana Gumbo and Muffaletta sandwiches! For the uninitiated, Gumbo is a thick soup made with Andoui sausage, chicken breast, jumbo shrimp, okra and Creole seasonings. Gumbo is more than a soup--it is one of the defining traditions and successes of Creole cuisine! The Muffaletta is another amazing Louisiana creation. The Italian bread is filled with layers of mozzarella and provolone cheeses, thinly sliced ham, hard salami, and mortadella, and the all important olive spread that defines the dish! More than a sandwich, the Muffaletta is an experience! To keep the atmosphere of Mardi Gras going, we will be giving away a free set of Mardi Gras beads with every order of a dozen beignets! All the special menu items are available for takeout as well, so you can enhance your very own Mardi Gras party!
